Leopard Jacket

Monday, March 16, 2015

Happy Monday loves! How were your weekends? Please ignore the snow in the background of these photos because it was an absolutely beautiful weekend in Kentucky! Not only did UK (my alma mater) win the SEC Championship but we are finally getting a taste of Spring weather! I do still have a few winter looks for you as our weather here is temperamental and my spring/summer clothes are in totes. This leopard coat has been on my wish list for almost a year and I'm glad it finally made it to the blog. I wore a Canadian tuxedo look underneath the jacket to act as a blank canvas to allow the jacket to steal the show. I've always loved red and leopard together so it was a no-brainer to wear my bag along with my favorite camel boots.

Western Snow

Wednesday, March 11, 2015

I don't what it is about this look, but I felt like a true cowgirl. It may or may not be the wide brim olive green hat or my camel booties. Either way, the snow is slowly melting, spring is approaching and I'm this close to yelling "YEEE-HAWWW"!

Man Repeller Blazer

Monday, March 9, 2015

Happy Monday loveys! I hope you had a wonderful weekend! We were snowed in for the beginning of it and we spent today, sleeping recovering from losing an hour today. I'm here with another item from my wardrobe that my husband absolutely hated. I'm going to start calling these pieces man repeller pieces. On one of my legendary thrifting trips I just had to snag this vintage blazer hanging in the coat section. I knew it would look beautiful on and it was made with such care and quality. I also want to actually start researching brands that I thrift to find the story or worth behind each piece.

I just loved the warm neutral hues of this plaid, corduroy long blazer/coat. I say blazer coat, because it's the length of a blazer but is thick enough to pose as a jacket. I knew I wanted to keep the rest of my outfit crisp and understated. I achieved this by wearing a white button down shirt, dark skinny jeans, camel ankle booties, and my favorite camel tote bag

So what do you think about my blazer? Is it a piece only women love and men hate? :D

1 Scarf, 2 Bloggers, Styled 3 Different Ways: Look Two!

Wednesday, March 4, 2015

Happy Wednesday my loves! As promised, here is the second look in the series I'm collaborating on with the lovely Roni of Style & Poise! In this look, I borrowed inspiration from one of the many looks I've pinned on my Pinterest board. I just loved how she turned her scarf into a beautiful poncho. I stuck with black pants like she did but wore a leopard skinny belt instead of a chunkier black belt. With the emergence of the blanket scarf last year, there are just SO many wears to wear them! You can easily throw one over your shoulders, like I did here, belt it around your waist, and voila, you look instantly chic and fabulous! Check out my first and second looks here & here!

Here's a sneak peek of how Roni styled her second look! We're twinning! The magical thing about personal style is how two people can style one item in so many ways! In her look, she wore cute moccasin boots and cinched her scarf at her waist with a camel belt.  Go check out her blog to see the rest!

As the snow finally melts after 3 weeks, we get another weather notice that says we're getting 10-13" of snow and sleet again tonight! Now I love winter fashion, but I am good with not seeing snow again for the rest of the year! Stay warm and safe loves!

1 Scarf, 2 Bloggers, Styled 3 Different Ways: Look One!

Monday, March 2, 2015

Happy Monday! I'm back today with a brand new look for you! After an enormous response to my first post HERE, featuring this amazing color-blocked blanket scarf, I began imagining other ways I could style it to share with you. I'm thrilled to be collaborating with one of my blogger girlfriends, Roni of Style & Poise to share how we style this amazing scarf 3 different ways, this week. I love this girl's style and I know you will too! I always say, to determine if an item of clothing or accessory is worth investing in, envision your closet and if you can style that item at least 3 ways, with what you already own, then go for it! This scarf was more than worth it for me.

So, in this look and with every look I wear this scarf with, it immediately becomes the focal point, (the aspect of the outfit that catches the eye first). I decided to keep most of this look neutral because of that, by wearing my camel sweater coat, ankle boots, and shopper tote bag. I added a simple striped top underneath and my look was complete! Comfy, layered, looks are my go to in the winter. I live in variations of this look during the week.

Here is the first look Roni styled for our collaboration wearing her scarf as a skirt! Go visit her blog to check out the rest of her look and amazing style.
