Happy Friday loves! Today's post features pieces I already have in my closet or pieces I'm coveting. As I always say, accessories make the outfit, like this beautiful rose gold Michele Deco Day watch with a brown diamond dial and rose gold links. While browsing the Levison Jewelers website, I found so many beautiful gold pieces but immediately fell in love with this watch. This is the perfect watch to wear for any occasion, casual, dressy, or even professional. Do you have any luxury gold jewelry items that are as fabulous as this watch? Please share below and have a wonderful weekend!

Hi loves! I've been having such a hard time shooting looks in this weird sunny but freezing and windy weather lately! Please bear with my photos, I will figure this out soon! :)
Today's look features another incredible ankara maxi skirt that has stolen my heart. As a Nigerian American, ankara print has a special place in my heart. The vibrant color, the print, and meaning just speaks to me, so when my love Merry of Nomose Couture made this Oseme skirt (with a Versace inspired feel) for me and I tried it on, I fell in love. The Oseme high waisted maxi skirt features a thick quality cotton fabric, that is flattering to all shapes and did I mention it has pockets? That's always a WIN in my book! She also custom made me the fabulous ankara full skirt I wore in this look last year. If you are looking for a well made beautiful ankara print item, whether it be a high waisted or hi-low skirt, a dress, or accessories, please check out her store!
I styled black accessories around the skirt to let it shine as the focal point. The leopard skinny belt added a fun pop of interest to cinch the look and the red lining of my bucket bag complemented the red notes in the skirt. Finally, I added gold jewelry and a vibrant red lip and the look was complete.
Happy Wednesday loves! I've been eyeing the cape trend and I was so excited to receive this one for Christmas! Not only does it keep you warm and cozy, it features warm neutral tones such as red, purple, brown, blue, and gray, all perfect for winter! Have you jumped on the cape trend? How are you wearing yours?
Happy Monday & Martin Luther King day my loves! This weekend has literally flown right by and I'm so happy for this extra day of rest and a chance to pull myself together for the week. I got the privilege of styling my sister yesterday for a fun photo shoot to promote her book and upcoming website re-launch. It was my first official styling gig and I can't wait to share photos here for you to see how everything turned out! I'm hoping that this styling session will be the first of many this year! ;)
I've always loved food because it's something that can unite and bond people from all cultures. After watching the Western Union video below, I began to feel a little homesick. Living 7 hours away from the state I grew up in can be hard, especially around the holidays. As newlyweds we kind of had to develop our holiday rotation, I celebrated Thanksgiving with my husband and my family and Christmas with my husband and in-laws. I enjoyed making new memories with my new family but missed my family very much. All of this got me thinking about how my parents must feel around the holidays every year. As Nigerians, 90% of their family still live there. They both moved here to further their education and create a better life for themselves and later my sisters and I. Distance aside, my parents have always kept in touch with our family back in Nigeria by emails, phone calls, and traveling. My mom has always used Western Union to send money to our family in Nigeria.
One of my favorite dishes my mom made for us is spaghetti. We grew up on it and it has become a staple meal that I now make and more recently, baked spaghetti (pictured above) for my husband and I. I love how cultures can pass down recipes and favorite meals from generation to generation.
Why a video about food? Well, Western Union's aim is to connect people globally. As we all know, food is a connective tissue to a person's family and culture and a popular topic on WU's social channels. #WUHomedCooked is a heartwarming storytelling video, where Western Union surprises and delights our customers with their favorite meal from home from their families. Take a look for yourself!
Pictured above is a traditional Nigerian dish, Egusi soup and Fufu. My mom makes it and I absolutely LOVE it, I'm serious, my mouth immediately begins to water. I've been planning to try making it by myself for the first time. I plan to soon, and when I do, I'll share it here or on my Instagram page, so stay tuned!
What are some dishes that have been passed down in your family? When you eat certain meals do you find yourself feeling a little homesick, or missing your family?

Happy Wednesdays loves! Today's outfit may be a little familiar to you because it's what I wore for our Christmas pictures! The only difference was I wore darker jeans. Every year I drool over all of the faux fur vests I see on fellow bloggers, Pinterest, Instagram, and out and about in real life. I had even purchased one and returned it because it wasn't flattering to my shape at all. After that I'd given up completely until I'm perusing Forever21 and what do you know? I see this sherpa perfection in a vest with camel piping and as if I wasn't already going to get it, for 30% off!! Don't you just love when moments like that happen? This vest is an amazing addition to my closet, it's great quality, and don't be surprised to see this on repeat on and off the blog!
