This girl was given the Versatile Blogger Award!!

Tuesday, May 8, 2012

Hey loves! I was recently given this award by a new blogger friend Sal! I'm so excited because though I've been blogging since 2010, I really became consistent with my posts and vision for this blog this year!  (Don't you love when new year resolutions really stick? lol) And I've been having a ball sharing my style with you all and watching this little blog grow...

Rules of the award:
1. Nominate 15 fellow bloggers who are relatively new to blogging
2. Let them know you have nominated them
3. Share7 random facts about yourself
4. Thank the bloggers who have nominated you (link to their blog)
5. Add the Versatile Blogger Pic to your blog

Okay, 7 random things about me!! Here goes:

1. I seriously LOVE cars. Seriously, I can tell the make and year of a car just from seeing the front grill or side of a car lol. I already know what my next car should be too!! hahaha!!
2. I played competitive tennis until I graduated high school.
3. I only eat the "flats" when I get wings. I don't know why looking at those tiny drumsticks make me physically ill.
4. I learn ad-libs to my popular songs before I learn actual words!
5. I still don't know how to swim.
6. I love my boyfriend of 6 years. So much. We've been through thick and thin and I thank God for bringing and keeping him in my life.
7. My sister is my best friend...we've been mistaken for twins though I don't see it lol. She will be my MOH (maid of honor) when that day comes.

And now to the fun part! **Drumroll* I nominate these blogs for the award:

Go check out these lovely ladies' blogs and tell them I sent you :)

PS. Notice anything different about my blog?? ;o) I'd love to know what you think!!! My boyfriend is amazing and totally revamped the blog and brought my vision to life and added a few touches of his own and I love the new look and name!! **hugs to all my new followers, welcome to the fun!!**

Style Mash-up!!

Sunday, May 6, 2012

Hi Loves! I've missed you guys :) I hope your weekend was amazing! I'm actually at home in MS with my family for the weekend to celebrate my Mom graduating with her MSW! I'm so proud of her. I will do a post later this week, with snippets of the great time we had with her :)

So the outfit I'm wearing is what I like to call a " style mash-up", meaning I'm wearing unrelated pieces that somehow embodies my style and made perfect sense for me to wear together. I decided to make my striped body-con skirt the focal point of the outfit and style around it. I wore a simple white top with my army green vest, to neutralize all the white and at the last minute, I grabbed my favorite watercolor scarf to finish the look! This look is easy yet chic and it had a lot going on, without looking like it had a lot going on...(know what i mean?) What do you think? Enjoy the pics!

P.S. I'm participating in the Nautical Challenge over on Everybody Everywear go check out all of the fab looks!

What I Wore: | Top: Banana Republic | Vest: Old Navy | Skirt, Scarf, & Sandals: Target (old) | Bag, Belt, & Ring: H&M | Jewelry: Gap and Charming Charlie bracelets, and vintage leopard earrings |

Have you been wearing any outfits that may not make sense to everyone else but you absolutely love wearing?? If so, what are they? I'd love to hear from you! Thanks for reading this post and thank you so much for all the love, comments, and for following, it really means so much to me :)

Blushed Neutral with a Hint of Mint...

Wednesday, May 2, 2012

So it's not Friday yet?? Oh ok...lol! Hi loves! I hope you've had a great week so far! This outfit is actually from Sunday, I wore this to church and after with my boyfriend to go have dinner with his family. The vest was a last minute addition on the way to church and I felt it would really add some interest to the overall look. I was going to wear a scarf, until I saw that it was going to be a sweltering day and decided to go with my mint green statement necklace instead. I really liked the way the neutral army vest complemented and added some edge to my blush pink maxi. You've seen this skirt before in this post and it's easily become one of my faves! Enjoy the pics...

ps. I'm pretty sure all my makeup melted off my face from the intense heat :/ yuck lol

Vintage leather and Paisely...i die for this bag! :)

What I Wore: | Vest: Old Navy | Top: Banana Republic | Maxi: Forever21 | Leopard Flats: Target | Purse: recent vintage purchase found by my babe :) | Manicure: Essie- Tart Deco |

2 things I'm so thankful for:
  • For God's favor, because my AC in my car has been broken for almost a month and my boyfriend's uncle took it and got it fixed for me and it ended up not being the compressor or anything serious, but just needed flushing (whatever that means lol)
  • For my boyfriend's patience, because he agreed to pull over and take these pics for me on the way to his family's house because I "thought the rocks on the hill would make a cool background" (thanks Boop <3!) ...#bloggerproblems
Have a great day loves!! Thanks for stopping by my blog to read my posts, commenting, and following! You make my day brighter :)

Coral and Leopard...

Monday, April 30, 2012

Hi Loves! It's Monday, and I hope you all had wonderful and relaxing weekends!! Mine was not relaxing but I had a pretty great weekend! I spent Saturday exploring the city with the boyfriend and we found so many treasures! He's been recenlty bitten by the DIY bug and I think it's contagious lol :P. So I decided to keep my outfit for this post cute and comfy, so I threw on a coral cardigan over my leopard chiffon blouse with jeans and some cute peep toe flats. To cinch the waist and pull the look together, I added a skinny belt. I really like the look of coral and leopard together. I've never worn leopard as an item of clothing before, I usually wear it as a shoe or accessory, but I must say I really enjoyed wearing it as a "neutral" with this look! Enjoy the pics...

Spotted Neutrals & A Special Thank You!!

Monday, April 23, 2012

Hope you had a wonderful weekend loves!! I decided to throw a blazer on over my outfit due to the cold front we've had for the last few days. (Please come back Spring weather!) I chose to wear a caramel colored blazer over my polka dot blouse to neutralize the entire look for a casual lunch meeting. I topped it all off with an over-sized clutch, simple jewelry, and taupe cap toe flats! Enjoy the pics...
