Valentine's Day Hair with Head & Shoulders Moisture Care

Tuesday, February 10, 2015

Valentine's Day is in a few days ladies and I know you want to look gorgeous for your date or girls' night out. If you're like me, aside from makeup and a stylish outfit, when my hair is healthy and styled, I feel my most beautiful, so I have just the thing for you to achieve healthy and moisturized hair. I was so excited to try Head & Shoulder's new Moisture Care line specifically formulated for textured hair! This collection includes a shampoo, a 2-in-1 conditioner and shampoo, a co-wash, and scalp soother. The main ingredients included are vitamin E rich almond oil, coconut essence, peppermint oil, and a dandruff-fighting ingredient zinc pyrithione (ZPT). All of these products, provide moisture for your scalp and immediately and over time, help eliminate dandruff and leave you 100% flake free.

To achieve my perfect Valentine's Day hairstyle, I started with the Head & Shoulders dandruff shampoo. I immediately noticed how thick and frothy the lather was after just a few scrubs. I loved how clean my scalp felt without feeling stripped of its moisture.

Next, I used the dandruff shampoo + conditioner combo. It was also thick and creamy and produced a luxurious lather.

I then followed up using the co-wash. Co-washes, short for conditioner washes, have emerged as one of the alternatives to traditional shampooing and conditioning on days when women wish to omit shampoo. The co-wash was so thick and creamy and I loved how soft it made my hair feel. This can be used on days when your hair isn't super dirty but you want to refresh your hair and provide a boost of moisture. I lightly detangled my hair and rinsed out the co-wash before my final step.

The scalp soother provided a refreshing tingly feeling from the peppermint oil, when I applied it and massaged it into my scalp.

After properly rinsing out all products, I towel dried my hair and then two strand twisted it with one of my favorite creams, wrapped it in a satin scarf and kept it that way overnight as I slept. The next day I untwisted and fluffed my hair out and it was full of volume, definition and so much moisture.

I love that Head & Shoulders has developed a line specifically for textured hair. You can tweak the order in which you use any of these products to your liking and see what works best for you and most importantly, its affordable! For more information on the line and how you can buy these products for yourself, go here! If you get to try it out, please come back and let me know what you think!

Happy Tuesday!

Valentine's Day Look One: [Radiant In Pink]

Monday, February 9, 2015

Happy Monday my loves!! With Valentine's Day less than a week away, I figured I'd provide some outfit inspiration for anyone that has a special date for a romantic evening, a movie, or night out with the girls. I'll be featuring a little outfit inspiration all week so be sure to check back to see how I tie in pink for Valentine's Day! This first look is perfect for a Valentine's date night with the special man in your life. When the team from Shabby Apple contacted me to collaborate with them, I was overjoyed and immediately chose this Nutcracker dress. This dress comes in two other colors, green and blue, but I chose pink because I knew I wanted to wear this for V-day and it's one of my favorite colors...

The detailing on this dress is incredible. I love how the cut accentuates my waist and the little bows behind my elbows add such a feminine touch. I decided to keep the rest of the look understated with some nude d'orsay flats and a black oversized clutch.

Feeling Myself

Wednesday, February 4, 2015

I've been on the hunt for the perfect Fedora hat to not only fit my head, but complement my personal style and I may or may not have gasped audibly in the store when I spotted this olive green beauty. I held my breath as I reached to the top rack to grab it and they had sizes! Trust me one size fits all hats aren't made for this girl!

I've had this color-blocked blanket scarf for a few months and have planned so many ways to feature it here on the blog but as I soon as I brought my new Fedora home, I envisioned this whole look from head to toe. There's something so edgy yet soft about styling a sweater with a leather skater skirt, and black leggings, ankle boots, and a bucket bag finished the look.

I'm working on a fun Valentine's Day look-book that I'll be launching here Monday, so please stay tuned for some outfit inspiration!

Michele Style

Happy Friday loves! Today's post features pieces I already have in my closet or pieces I'm coveting. As I always say, accessories make the outfit, like this beautiful rose gold Michele Deco Day watch with a brown diamond dial and rose gold links. While browsing the Levison Jewelers website, I found so many beautiful gold pieces but immediately fell in love with this watch. This is the perfect watch to wear for any occasion, casual, dressy, or even professional. Do you have any luxury gold jewelry items that are as fabulous as this watch? Please share below and have a wonderful weekend!

Whirlwind

Wednesday, January 28, 2015

Hi loves! I've been having such a hard time shooting looks in this weird sunny but freezing and windy weather lately! Please bear with my photos, I will figure this out soon! :)
Today's look features another incredible ankara maxi skirt that has stolen my heart. As a Nigerian American, ankara print has a special place in my heart. The vibrant color, the print, and meaning just speaks to me, so when my love Merry of Nomose Couture made this Oseme skirt (with a Versace inspired feel) for me and I tried it on, I fell in love. The Oseme high waisted maxi skirt features a thick quality cotton fabric, that is flattering to all shapes and did I mention it has pockets? That's always a WIN in my book! She also custom made me the fabulous ankara full skirt I wore in this look last year. If you are looking for a well made beautiful ankara print item, whether it be a high waisted or hi-low skirt, a dress, or accessories, please check out her store!
I styled black accessories around the skirt to let it shine as the focal point. The leopard skinny belt added a fun pop of interest to cinch the look and the red lining of my bucket bag complemented the red notes in the skirt. Finally, I added gold jewelry and a vibrant red lip and the look was complete.
