Darling With An Edge

Wednesday, February 27, 2013

Style Guide: When wearing a look with multiple colors, try wearing two items of clothing of the same color (like I did with my boots and belt), to make the look cohesive.

Hi loves!! Lately I've found myself gravitating towards the pairing of feminine and masculine clothing pieces. A year ago, I never would have worn combat boots with a vintage midi skirt and blouse but my style is constantly evolving and I kinda love this marriage of trends. Do you like to add some edge to otherwise feminine looks? And how?

MY LOOK:
Blouse: Forever 21 (similar)
Belt: H&M (similar)
Midi Skirt: Vintage (similar)
Combat Boots: Delia's (similar)

Hi Loves! I'm so excited that this week is officially over! I'm exhausted and all I want is to stay in, watch indie movies on netflix and cook with my honey this weekend. Thank you ALL for the suggestions and tips you all shared with me in my last post on my camera issues. (Special thanks to my blogger bestie Serena for patiently walking me through shooting manually and one of my lovely readers Suzanne for her email of photography tips!) I am by no means a professional at any of this, I'm just a girl that enjoys sharing my personal style with you while at the same time growing an affinity to photography!

Tiffany Blue

Wednesday, February 20, 2013

Hi my loves! We've made it halfway through the week! :) I find myself longing for longer days and warmer weather because even when the sun shines here in KY, it's still freezing! I know I'm not alone lol. Anyway, I have a serious question y'all...

So I have had my DSLR since Christmas and I know that there is a learning curve in everything, (at least that's what my honey says lol). But I have always been a perfectionist and I like learning, working hard, and seeing the results. I have been struggling with having consistent crisp pictures and I wanted to know if any of you who are photographers/enthusiasts had any suggestions on what I may be doing wrong or what I should try? I try and wait for that "magic hour" to shoot and when we do, my pictures look vibrant and sharp on the LCD of my camera, but by the time I transfer them over to my lifetime, they are grainy and dull. Does this happen to any of you? And if so, what do you do to fix this problem? I want to be able to provide you with vibrant, detailed, and sharp pictures consistently so ANY suggestions/recommendations/tips would be  appreciated! Feel free to comment or email me please! I will be indebted to you forever lol!

I am in LOVE with this statement necklace that I received from Crown + Glitter! It's heavy enough so you know it's great quality and I just love the shades of salmon, mustard, and raspberry. I know this piece will transition perfectly into the spring! If you love beautiful statement jewelry, then head on over and treat yourself .;)

STYLE GUIDE: Chambray/denim shirts are super versatile! Every girl should own at least one in her clothing arsenal. You can dress them up by tucking them into a skirt or trousers or go for a minimal look by wearing them over colored denim or leggings like I have on in this post!

Hi Loves! I hope you all had an amazing Valentine's Day yesterday! As promised, here is what I wore on my date with my honey last night! We had so much fun! We went and took some dancing lessons and learned some fox trot, waltz, rumba, and swing moves! Yes there were some missteps and bumped knees but our instructor was hilarious and we had a blast! After dancing, we went and had dinner and drinks at this amazing Italian restaurant!
PS. Who's loving Justin Timberlake's new song Suit & Tie?? Well I LOVE it and the song's been stuck in my head so I figured I'd name this post after a line from the chorus!

Wednesday, February 13, 2013

Hi my Loves!
We're halfway through the week and tomorrow is Valentine's Day!! It's such a beautiful day to spend showing your significant other how much you love them or just getting fly and heading out with a group of girlfriends! In the spirit of this day of love, I had to wear a little pink! I thought of wearing this look for my date with my fiance tomorrow (we're going to dinner and then dancing!) but I don't want him to see it here first, because it's a surprise. Don't worry, I already have photos of the look and I can't wait to share it with you all Friday! So stay tuned! ;)
