My Favorite Looks of 2012!!

Sunday, December 30, 2012

Hi Loves! I hope all of you have been enjoying the holidays with your families and loved ones! I thought it would be fun to share my favorite looks of 2012 with you! I enjoyed getting to reflect on this past year (where I began seriously blogging) and see how far I've come in developing my personal style (have some laughs over some failed looks) and see just how much I've grown as a writer. I'm so thankful for my tiny corner of this blogging community, where I can share my love of style and fashion, be creative, and have the opportunity to get to know all of my readers and make new blogger friends! Thank you so much for reading, following, and hanging with me this past year, while being so loving and supportive! I have some new ideas up my sleeve for this blog, in 2013, so stay tuned!

Hi my loves! I am having such a wonderful time with my family, I wanted to drop by and share this look I wore while wedding dress shopping with my sisters and mom today! When I sent a picture to J, he said "hi GI Jane" and I bust out laughing, but it was so fitting with this jacket on. I had an amazing time at the bridal shop today, trying on dresses and I totally fell in LOVE with the most beautiful wedding gown and my mom started crying and my sisters thought it looked amazing and it was SO me! I decided to leave that beauty at the store and think about it some more since it was only my first time looking. What do you think? Did any of you say yes to the dress at the first place you looked because you just knew it was the one???
My sissies (Stella: Bridesmaid & Diana: Maid Of Honor) were so amazing today! I had a wonderful wedding consultant, and she, my mom, and my sisters really helped make my first wedding dress experience so much fun!

Hi Loves! I hope each of you had an amazing and blessed Christmas with your families and you got to relax, stuff your faces, and share time with those you love. I thank God for having the opportunity to celebrate Christmas twice. One with my future "in-loves" (I hate the term in-law) and another with my family! I am so blessed and I had such a wonderful time! As I type this post, I may or may not have just eaten a sandwich with the turkey from Christmas dinner and had a homemade rice krispy treat or two so bear with me...:D
I wore this outfit to my fiance's families' Christmas dinner and I really loved how the colors complemented each other. The cowl neck of the sweater played the part of a scarf under my coat and I was cozy and comfortable, which is a major plus for me! How did you celebrate Christmas loves?? I'd love to hear from all of you!
Style Guide: When in doubt (especially in this chilly weather), a chunky vibrant sweater layered under a feminine long will keep you looking completely pulled together, while keeping you warm!

Style Guide: One of the easiest ways to make a look cohesive is to pull an accent color from your outfit to complement your boots, purse, or belt. In this look, I chose to wear my cross body bag with a camel strap and piping to complement my fave riding boots!

In the Deep...

Monday, December 17, 2012

Hi loves...I'm sorry but I am having trouble discussing fashion or style today. It all just seems so trivial in the grand scheme of things. The tragic incident that occurred Friday in Newtown, CT on Friday has stayed on my mind since. I have prayed and cried and cried and prayed and I still cannot understand or comprehend the violent act that took place. As a teacher, I pray I never have to be put in that kind of position with my students and that they never have to experience something so horrifying in their lives. As a future mother one day, I pray I never have to receive that kind of call...i choke up just imagining. My deepest prayers and thoughts are with the families and friends of those precious kids and victims knowing that God will give them peace, strength, and fills in the gap with whatever they need during this trying time.

Chartreuse & Poppies

Wednesday, December 12, 2012

Happy Humpday Loves! Today's look is featuring two pieces that I am in love with. Tell me you know which two I'm talkin about...Did you guess sheer chartreuse blouse and brocade skirt?? Well I hope so! I purchased this blouse in the summer on a shopping trip with my sisters and it has been hanging in my closet with the tags on it, waiting for the perfect moment to be worn. Well when Eshakti sent me this Golden Poppies Brocade skirt and I tried it on, I knew I had just the piece to make it pop and I think it enhances the gold tones of the poppies in this skirt perfectly! Do you have a piece hanging in your closet waiting for its perfect moment to make its debut?

PS. If you haven’t checked out Eshakti you really should, they’ve got some great dresses and skirts that can be customized to fit every woman, available right now and a great sale going on!

Style Guide: When wearing a printed skirt, try pairing a feminine sheer blouse in a vibrant accent color from the skirt to make the entire look POP!!

If you know anything about me, you know I LOVE a gorgeous statement earring. I have a serious collection of large eye catching pieces, so when my friend Juella of Get Julued sent me some of her gorgeous handmade earrings I literally squealed with joy! The earrings above are one a few pieces she sent me that I can't wait to style here on the blog and off. So if you're into unique, customizable (yes! she will customize these pieces for your taste!),  and eye catching pieces, check out her Etsy store here or click on her ad button on the right side of my blog. She's also on Instagram @julugu and Get Julued on Facebook! She was also sweet enough to give all of my readers 15% off with the code CEOSBLOG  at checkout so head on over to her site and tell her I sent you!

Emerald

Monday, December 10, 2012

Hi my loves! I hope you all had relaxed and wonderful weekends! I did but it rained the whole weekend. In fact, we ran out to take these pics during the one dry hour we had in the last three days! (that's dedication lol) You may or may not have heard that Pantone announced the color of 2013 to be Emerald! I'd originally planned to wear a red blazer with this look, but decided that I had to wear my green one instead. Emerald is such a versatile and vibrant color that can be easily styled in the winter, spring, summer and fall. Since Emerald is a jewel tone, this beautiful color would best complement rich purples, blues, reds, black, (as I did in this look) and golds. The pairings are endless and I for one, can't wait to incorporate this color into future looks. What do you think about Emerald green?

Style Guide: Blazers take the simplest of looks to the another level. So for a pop of color and added interest, try throwing on a funky blazer with your next look!

Have a great Monday!
