Taste The Rainbow...

It's Humpday Loves! In two days, the weekend will be here, and I for one, cannot wait! For this outfit, I went crazy with color and prints, and I loved every bit of it! I paired my cream button down chiffon blouse with tiny black hearts, a green accordion midi skirt, black flats, and my vintage aztec print basket weave purse. For accessories, I wore some gold and pink post earrings, bright color stacked bracelets, my gold boyfriend watch and teal polish. With all the colors I had on, I felt like a bag of skittles...Sometimes my outfits really don't make sense traditionally, but totally captures my personal style! Enjoy the pics!

Happy Monday Lovelies!
Spring is finally upon us and I find myself seriously gravitating to pastels and neutrals more and more! I love the softness of this pastel pink blazer/trench against the cream sheer blouse and minty green skirt. I paired it all with a brown, tan, and chocolate bag, tan sandals, vintage sunnies, and gold jewelry. Enjoy the pics!

Polkadots And Pastels

It’s Humpday Loves!

I hope you’ve all had amazing weeks so far, and if you haven’t, guess what? There are only 2 days until the weekend! J There is no back story to the outfit, except when I got off work and the sun was still shining, I decided to wear this look I had been thinking about all week. As you know, yesterday was the first day of Spring, yayyy!!  I love mixing prints and solids but if you aren't adventurous enough to wear polka dots with prints or patterns, a cute alternative is to wear them with a solid bright, neutral, or pastel color like I did.

I paired my black and white polka dot cami with my salmon pink maxi skirt and because the colors were not complimentary, they worked together in a contrastingly, subtle way. To pull the entire look together, I wore mint green flats and a vintage muted gray shoulder bag. I wore a mint green statement necklace to accompany the flats, my favorite vintage gold post earrings, rose gold boyfriend watch, and a stack of neon bracelets as accessories. Yes I wore neons with pastels and polka dots, but that is the beauty of developing your own personal style, don’t be afraid to try new things and you’ll be hooked on the endless possibilities you can come up with. Enjoy the pics!

Will you be trying out pastels and polka dots this Spring? I have a feeling I will be recycling this idea on future posts. Thanks for reading, commenting, and following my blog loves! Please leave comments, even if it's just to say hi, it would totally make my day. *waves hi to my 2 new followers* ;o) Have a blessed rest of your week!

Floral Splash And A Touch Of Leopard!

Monday, March 19, 2012

Happy Monday Lovelies!!
I had an amazing weekend and I hope you all did too! I had a very relaxing, non-academic weekend! Lol! It was so refreshing to have a week of no deadlines or assignments. I spent QT with my boyfriend on Friday and went on a mini-road trip to go do lunch and MAJOR spring shopping with my close girlfriend on Saturday. We had so much fun going overboard stuffing our bags and modeling outfits in the dressing room. Thrifted/vintage items will always be amazing, but I loved grabbing such lovely pieces from retail stores this past weekend.  I went to church on Sunday with my sister and boyfriend. After church, my sister and I grabbed lunch and met our friend to go to a natural hair meet-up here in our city.
On to the outfit, I wore this to church and to the natural hair meet-up on Sunday. I originally planned to wear a maxi skirt, sheer top, and blazer trench, but after checking out the weather and finding out we would have a high of 75, I decided to wear this bright red-orange floral oversized tunic, some skinny jeans, and my favorite leopard smoking flats instead. The tunic was the focal point of this outfit, so I added my leopard flats for a bit of edge and contrast to the “girliness” of the tunic. I threw my hair into a no-fuss top-knot and I wore my tan vintage leather and crème basket woven bag, my rose gold boyfriend watch, stacked on some bracelets as arm candy, and wore gold knob post earrings as my only accessories. I really loved how easy and pulled together this look was and I got a lot of compliments on it! (such a cute forever21 find!) I am so excited for the Spring weather that is quickly approaching and you can be sure you’ll see a lot of pastels, brights, prints, and florals featured on this blog in upcoming posts this season. Enjoy the pics!

Pretty In Purple

Happy Monday Loves!!
I had a great weekend! I got some much needed rest this weekend because I had no projects or papers due! J I also got to spend QT with my sis Saturday and with my guy on Sunday. How were your weekends? How did you spend them? Please feel free to leave comments, I really love hearing from you! Sooo if you’ve looked ahead to the pics, you can see I got a new hairstyle! I got a style known as box braids (Seen on Solange and Janet in Poetic Justice) done on Saturday and they are still a little sore but I am LOVING them! Especially the fact that my hair is being given a vacay and how versatile and low maintenance the style is.

On to my outfit…I wore this on Sunday because it was gorgeous outside and I felt like this outfit went perfect with my new hair style. When I saw this lovely vintage purple pussy bow blouse in the thrift store, I knew it had to be mine and I immediately began envisioning the many outfits I could style this with, as the eye-catching focal point. Color-blocking with gray and blue was the first thing that came to mind so I decided to pair this blouse with my gray flared trousers, black flats, and blue skinny belt, and vintage basket oversized clutch. This post is a little picture heavy because I was feelin’ myself a little more than usual.. ;o) Enjoy!

Before going to dinner and to see Project X with my boyfriend!
I promise, we didn't plan to dress alike! He picked me up and we had on
matching yellow button downs and jeans! This happens all the time.
I love this man..

THE FIT: Purple blouse-thrift store, Grey flared slacks-NY&Co, Purple snake skin skinny belt-Forever21, Black flats-Target, and Purple and pink basket-weave oversized clutch-thrift store <3

I’ve really been enjoying the lady-like blouse trend lately and I love how easily they can be dressed up or down. Easy, chic styles always quickly become my favorites! What trends have you been wearing? And what styles are you planning on trying as Spring approaches? Thanks for all of your support, lovely comments, and continuing to read my blog. I love sharing my styles with you and I am excited to see how far this little blog can go this year. Have a blessed week!

Happy Tuesday Loves!

I hope you've all had amazing weekends! We lucked out a little with weather this weekend after the tornado warning and crazy storms we experienced on Friday, where I live. Please keep those who suffered damage and loss from the tornadoes in your prayers.

So this outfit post is actually what I wore to church. My sister took these pics of me after service and in a few pics you can see flecks of snow starting to come down and some even landed on me, but no way were we stopping for the snow! We're professionals :P haha! I decided to wear my new vintage (lol) London Fog cardigan with a pastel blue button down shirt with some skinny jeans and my brown riding boots. I wore one of my fave vintage bags with colorful accessories and my new rose gold boyfriend watch (c/o of my babe!) to finish the outfit. If I substituted a tweed blazer for this sweater, I would be ready to go horseback riding! lol. Enjoy the pics!

What styles are you ladies gravitating towards as you deal with this crazy in-between winter and spring weather? Thanks as always, for stopping by my blog, reading my posts, commenting, and following! Be blessed!
