February Faves!

Wednesday, February 25, 2015

Happy Wednesday loves! It's hard to believe February is quickly coming to an end. We were snowed and iced in all last week so I was unable to shoot any new looks so I thought I'd share my favorite looks of this month here with you! I really enjoyed creating the Valentine's Day lookbook so all three of those looks are featured above as 2, 3 and 4. My absolute favorite outfit of the month was look 1 featuring my favorite hat and scarf that made a color blocking statement.

THE RUNDOWN:

Which look was your favorite??? 1, 2, 3, 4 or all?

Sequined Blues

Wednesday, February 18, 2015

As I post these photos, I can't help but miss being with my family in MS again and most importantly warm weather! I didn't even have to wear a jacket the day we shot this look! Temps did drop later that evening but it was fun to wear something cute and not have to cover it up with a bulky coat and mittens and a scarf!

I found this sweatshirt while my hubby and I were out of town. After I purchased it, he asked if i was keeping it because and if it was a gag sweatshirt. My jaw dropped because of how cute it is and how great of a sale I found it on. Y'all sometimes, husbands just don't understand.  I styled it with my favorite skinnies, ankle boots, and stole borrowed my little sister's cross-body bag. Simple pulled together looks like these are easy to pack for a trip away and chic at the same time.

Style Swap With Boohoo [Wine + Leopard]

Monday, February 16, 2015

Happy Monday Loves! I hope you all had a lovely Valentine's Day weekend! My husband and I celebrated our first Valentine's Day as a married couple and despite the frozen temps and icy roads, my Boopy made the weekend so special and I truly felt like a queen! From breakfast in bed to a homemade chocolate desert to a surprise painting class where we painted this masterpiece together! Before I move on to today's look, I want to make sure I thank you for all of your sweet comments on last week's posts! After posting Monday-Friday last week, I have a whole new level of respect for bloggers who blog five days a week consistently. Thank you for sticking by me and continuing to support each and every post!

Do you ever wonder what it would be like to have someone pick out an item based on what they think speaks to your style? Well a part of me secretly always has, so I loved the idea when the team at Boohoo pitched me the idea of a style challenge to collaborate with Johnnalynn and pick out an item from their website for her to wear and she would in turn do the same for me. When I received this marled knit sweater, I was thrilled that she picked out something I really liked!

I decided to add some texture and interest to this sweater by wearing a tissue thin leopard turtleneck and this wide brim hat. Along with my gold accessories, my black bucket bag and slip on sneakers completed the look!

Come join in on all the fun!

So do you think this sweater is my style? Would you pick out something similar for me to wear if you had to style me?

(Make sure you check out Johnnalynn's blog later this week to see how she styled the item I chose for her!)

I'm about to make some hot cocoa and go cuddle in bed with my hubby and watch movies. We will be officially snowed in tomorrow as we're expecting 10-16' of snow overnight. Stay warm loves!

Valentine's Day Look Three: [Pink Collar]

Thursday, February 12, 2015

Hey loves! Here's my third and final look for this Valentine's Day look-book! I've been loving the long coat trend this winter and didn't want to buy a coat this year. It's true what they say, there's nothing like shopping your own closet. I'm so happy that I never got rid of this long baby pink beauty that I've had since undergrad during one of my many closet purges. There were many times I was close. The fit of this coat is even better now and I was able to style it with my faux fur stole, some fun distressed boyfriend jeans, a chambray shirt and a beige cream sweater. I thought my converse sneakers added a cool touch. This look would be just right for meeting a group of friends for a mani/pedi, lunch and a movie for Valentine's Day!

Whether you're single or away from your significant other, please don't spend Valentine's Day alone! Grab some friends and go pamper yourselves, shop, and stuff your faces with chocolates and yummy food!

**Some of you may be getting diamonds Saturday from your special someone and others may have begun your spring cleaning and looking to get rid of diamonds. If you are one of the latter, I have the perfect option for you! A company by the name  Diamond Lighthouse was created to give the diamond market an objective and trustworthy intermediary. Their platform bridges the gap between people looking to sell their diamond jewelry and professional diamond dealers and jewelers. They are also hosting a fun Valentine's Day contest here! So go and enter for your chance to win!**

So tell me, of the three Valentine's Day inspired looks I've styled, which is your favorite and which one are you most likely to wear?

Valentine's Day Look Two: [Be Mine]

Wednesday, February 11, 2015

As promised, here is the second look in my Valentine's Day Look-book to help inspire you with ideas of what to wear out on a date, or girls' night out! I know red and pink are typical Valentine's day colors, but there's something so soft and romantic about the color pink, and I immediately thought of this skirt. In today's look, I've styled a full midi skirt with a striped top a casual denim jacket and nude flats. This look is perfect for a day date or easily switch into some heels and throw on a black moto jacket and you're ready for a night on the town!

THE RUNDOWN:

[ :: Thrifted Gap Jacket (similar, splurge) :: H&M Striped shirt (similar, turtleneck option) :: Pink full midi skirt (similar, similar, floral option) :: Nude D'orsay flats (leopard option) :: Forever 21 gold clutch (similar) :: Double gold chain necklace (similar) :: Watch :: Lipstick :: ]
