First Day of Fall!!! OOTD & HOTD!

Friday, September 23, 2011

Hey Loves! So if you haven't heard already, today is the official first day of Fall! Fall is my favorite season for so many reasons, my birthday, FASHION, and perfect weather! lol. So, I just wanted to show you an outfit I wore to church last sunday that I put together at the last minuted and LOVED!! It was fashionable yet comfortable. I wore a burnt orange-red maxi skirt with a white v neck top, an aztec inspired necklace, some of my favorite thrifted earrings, gold boyfriend watch, denim jacket and ballet flats.  I'm really loving the maxi skirt trend and aztec inspired patterns, (especially in jewelry) for the fall. What fall trends are you dying to try out?
Stay Fab Loves!! And have an amazing weekend! ~xoxoxo

Monday, September 19, 2011

Hey Loves!! As I promised, I'm sharing the fabulous vintage blazers I've found recently while thrifting. :) I found these 4 blazers on different trips to thrift stores this past month. I have been fighting a major urge to go shopping lately BUT sometimes it's just as fun coming up with new looks from pieces you already own or going on thrifting adventures and being an economista (yes, its a word lol!) Now all i have to do is take these to the dry cleaners and voila!, Gorgeous blazers for the fall! Here's what I found:

HOTD--Road Trip!

Hey Loves! My sister and I went to Wisconsin a couple of weeks ago to visit my mommy, grandparents, and my uncle and cousins! I'm so glad we got the chance to spend QT with them. There's nothing like family! I wore a fro that day because the weather was misty and gray and I wanted a style with no fuss as we had an 8hr road trip ahead of us! So I just rocked it with a striped maxi and minimal jewelry (bright geometric earrings to add a pop of color!) This was really just a fluffed out chunky twist out. I played around with the idea of getting color in my hair over the last month,  but jet black is sooo pretty right now as fall approaches! :)

Hey Loves! Bringing you another Nail of the day! Can you tell I'm addicted to nail polish yet? lol. So I was bored and decided to use one of my cheapy fave polishes. Sinful Colors-Folly and Sally Hansens Extreme in some silvery color. I love how the rich creamy deep reddish pink color contrasted against the silver color. Not gonna lie, though this is cute, I'm already thinking of my next mani :)

What colors are you rocking?

Stay Fab! ~xoxo

Now That's Definition!

Soo I'm sure if you're a newly natural like me or a product junkie, you've tried tons of products that promises to give us extra curl definition, eliminate frizziness, stretch your hair, etc. And while I love trying out new products like (Shea Moisture Curl Enhancing Smoothie, Kinky Curly Custard, Design Essentials Curl Stretching Cream, Beautiful Curls Shea Butter Curl Activating Cream, etc), until now, I've NEVER experienced such springy, defined, juicy, and shiny curls!! And guess what I used?? NO new product promising the world....wait for it, wait for it...

A lil water and a mixture of SHEA BUTTER, LEAVE IN CONDITIONER, & ESSENTIAL OILS, That's it! look at the shine, spring, and definition of my curls below. Just goes to show, a few oils from the Whole Foods Store, and raw shea butter mixed together can make such a huge difference!!

What hair recipes have you found that work great for hair during your journey??

so springy!

HOTD-Pompadour & A Sprinkle of Fall Fashion!

Hey Loves, for the past few days, where I live has been dreary, wet, and cold!! I've been anticipating fall weather but not like this! i mean, that nasty misty weather, where it's obnoxious to wear an umbrella but it'll leave you sticky if you don't! ANYWHOOOO ugly weather, means look as cute as you can...no? lol...So, I decided to wear my hair in a pompadour after taking my twists down. (i'm always doing two strand twists, I feel a braid out coming soon ;))

On my hair: Misted it with water, and twisted with shea butter and oil mix
On my face: l'oreal true match, some pinky nude lipstick by Revlon and Coastal Scents palette blush
On me: H&M Anorak, white v-neck top, mustard yellow pashmina scarf, thrifted* earrings, not shown: wide leg jeans from express, tan ballet shoes

*thrift haul post coming soon

Chocolatte's Fave Conditioners!!

Monday, September 5, 2011

Hey Loves!
I wanted to quickly share with you the main conditioners that my hair has been LOVING since I've become natural!! :)

Giovanni Deep Moisture Conditioner provides great slip and instantly makes my hair feel moisturized and silky. This conditioner smells delicious just like starbursts and its a 99% natural hair product line . I've only used the conditioner so far, but I love it and I want to try the tea tree shampoo soon!

I've been using Say Yes to Carrots conditioner since I was natural and i love how thick the consistency of it is and how soft it makes my hair. I recently bought Say Yes to Cucumbers because it said "color care" so I figured why not? lol. Its super thick too and I used it as a deep conditioner with my hot oil treatment. These products are also 99% natural.

One of the first few Youtube videos I watched about natural hair products staples mentioned Aussie Moist conditioner, so I went out and got it to try it on my hair and I really loved this. I have the shampoo which is really moisturizing as well as cleansing. I've kind of become a co-wash girl and have very few shampoos that I trust on my natural hair, but I really liked how it didn't strip my hair of moisture. The 3min miracle is just what it says, a miracle! I left it in longer of course under a conditioning cap, and my hair felt really soft, dewy, and manageable. The conditioner is thick and creamy and super affordable and I love it!

Saved the best for last! I've really begun to love Shea Moisture products and of the few I own, these two conditioners are really really super moisturizing. I wish that they wouldn't use bottles with a pump because I'm afraid as I get near the end, I will end up wasting a lot of the product at the end. BUT, the raw shea butter conditioner really did restore moisture to my hair! ANYTHING with shea butter works amazing on my hair. I use the african black soap conditioner when my scalp is flaky or irritated because it is good for psoriasis symptoms.

What Conditioners are you loving on your hair right now??

Stay Fab! ~xoxoxo
