Pearls & Dior

Wednesday, January 30, 2013

It's Humpday again loves! For today's look, I'm debuting a blazer that for some crazy reason has not been shown here on the blog. It's a textured vintage Christian Dior piece that I absolutely love. It has textured orange, gold, gray, and black threading and fits me perfectly! 99% of my crazy blazer collection is vintage and I honestly believe clothing was just made better back then! I also decided to wear my vintage salmon pussy-bow blouse underneath. Do you like to thrift shop for clothing? What are some of your most treasured finds??

STYLE GUIDE: Trench coats are a staple and classic piece for every woman to have in her clothing arsenal! They are perfect for adding a preppy, chic, and even mysterious finish to the simplest of looks! ;) Not to mention they keep you warm and are wonderful for layering!

Happy Monday my loves! I hope you all had amazing weekends! Due to the snow/ice storm that happened late Thursday night, I got a "snow day" Friday, giving me another 3 day weekend! My weekend was awesome and I am feeling relaxed and ready to tackle this week! We surprisingly had a sunny day Saturday so I decided to wear this trench coat I've had for a year or so. I wore leggings and an oxford over sized shirt underneath with chocolate boots. I kinda wish I opted against these boots but I don't take myself or fashion that seriously lol. It's supposed to be fun! What do you think? Are there any other ways you'd like to see me style my trench coat? Drop me a line in the comments!

Linking up here today!

No matter what you do today, have a little fun!

Hi Loves! As I type this, there is a serious chance of us having a sleet & snowstorm here in KY tonight, it has been bone chillingly cold this entire week and I'm pissed off about it. So please don't let these pictures fool you! I actually wore this look with my sister and one of my best friends to go bridal gown and bridesmaid dress shopping last Saturday! We had so much fun and I almost said Yes to the Dress!! But I decided to try on a few more before I decide ;)

Soooo, tell me you've noticed a pattern in this week's looks...I'll give you a minute to think... OK time's up! The one thing I've worn in each look this week, here and herewas some form of the color Yellow!!  Yellow may or not be my new fave color to wear! Probably because it makes things a little sunnier on gloomy freezing days lol. Do you find yourself gravitating toward a certain color lately? Do Share! Linking up here today!

Style Guide: Next time you're not sure if two colors will work in your outfit. Take a peek at a color wheel! Colors that are next to each other on the color wheel or across from each other, complement each other beautifully!

Hi Loves! Are you catching the mod vintage vibe I'm giving you? To be honest, this look was inspired by the cutest potential photographer for our wedding lady that my sister and I met at a bridal show last weekend. Her style was so fresh and unique and after telling how much i loved her style, my mind immediately scanned my closet and realized I had super similar pieces! (Dontcha just love when that happens?) Well, here's my interpretation!

Today, I'm also the Style Crush over at my friend Shannon's Blog! Check it out and make my day!

Hi my loves!! Two posts in one day?? That's a record for me! I just wanted to drop in and tell you that today I'm a Style Crush at my gorgeous new blogger girlfriend, Shannon's blog, GBO Fashion!

I met through Shannon through Instagram! Yep! After I stalked pretty much all of her pics and found out that we have similar styles, I hit the follow button, and the rest is history! Isn't it so great when you meet new blogger girlfriends? This girl is not only gorgeous, but she's absolutely hilarious!!

So be sure to go check out my featured post on Shannon's lovely blog!

Hey Loves! How were your weekends? It's Martin Luther King Day! I'm so thankful for everything he has done with the civil rights movement, for fighting to put an end to racial discrimination, speaking out against injustice, all of which led to the desegregation of African Americans and Caucasians. It's also so poignant and powerful that I get to witness the Second Inauguration of President Obama today! He's an amazing leader and I can't wait to see all he has planned with his administration to lead our country! I'm also excited to sleep in because I'm off. (teacher perks!) :o)

This look consists of the kind of clothing I love. Leopard print, mustard, and cognac boots have been a staple in my wardrobe for as long as I can remember so it was a no-brainer to wear this look to meet my sister for dinner and drinks! What are some pieces that you own, and will always love and wear confidently any day of the week??
STYLE GUIDE: Wearing cognac and leopard is an easy to make a look consisting of unrelated colors look put together!

Winter Floral {Remix}

Friday, January 18, 2013

Hey Loves! Thanks for the amazing response to my floral blazer in my last post! I'm glad I'm not the only one who's indulging in some springier prints in spite of the cold. Today's look is featuring my sister/photographer again! She is rocking a gorgeous floral maxi skirt, black suede over the knee boots, a gray turtleneck and comfy black scarf! What do you think of her remix to the Winter Floral look?

Style Guide: In this look, Diana wore black over the knee boots and a black scarf to complement her maxi skirt and make the look cohesive!
Don't forget to check out her Blog, comment, and follow!

Winter Floral

Wednesday, January 16, 2013

Hi Loves! We've had some really nasty cold weather here in KY lately, so these shots are actually from last week. Thank God I was proactive when the weather was warm! I hope you're all staying warm and dry wherever you are. Enjoy the pics!

I'm so excited for Spring, that I'm already rockin florals and pastels! I added a little pop of mustard from my bag with this amazing floral blazer and voila! J kinda hates this blazer and called them "Granny Curtains", but what does he know? Hahaha! What do you ladies think of this blazer and wearing floral prints during winter?
STYLE GUIDE: When wearing a printed blazer, or one with multiple colors, try wearing a bag that pulls out one color as the focal point to complement the entire look and make it cohesive!

Blazer: Thrifted
Striped Oxford Shirt: Thrifted Ralph Lauren
