Summertime Staples

Monday, June 29, 2015

As I'm writing this post, I'm realizing how often I've styled these classic white skinny jeans. I've already worn them once here on the blog and several times out with friends and my husband. So I guess yea, you can say my white jeans are a summer time staple. I'm really loving the distressed trend and have been eyeing this pair.

A chambray shirt is another must-have in my closet that saves my life every time I can't think of what to wear with a certain piece. It's an easy transition piece from summer to fall, to winter and back to spring. And I'm guilty of wearing it with just about everything. -with boyfriend jeans, and an oversized cardigan, with black skinny jeans and a leather jacket, with distressed jeans and an over sized coat, a full midi skirt, and tied over a white eyelet dress. The list goes on and on.

And you all know, as far as I'm concerned, Leopard is a neutral and gives just the right pop to a very simple outfit like the one I"m wearing. In the warmer months, you have to be careful with the leopard placement so you don't appear heavy and layered. So I love the light touch my leopard clutch gives. I've styled it with - wide leg joggers and a crop-top, and with a pink midi skirt and a statement tee!

A statement necklace also goes a long way in adding interest and texture to this look.

Culottes

I've been doing some serious online shopping lately. Don't tell my husband! And I usually leave some items in my shopping cart overnight before pulling the trigger and making my purchase. But the pieces I've been eyeing above are too good for me to let pass me by! I already have the purse but I really need want these white leggings! They are flattering on most body types and would look fabulous with a vibrant crop top such as the coral one pictured above.

Funfetti!

Monday, June 22, 2015

Happy FIRST DAY OF SUMMER Loves! I brought out an oldie but goodie for today's look. Don't you love when that happens? When you can shop your own closet and the piece you pick out still fits and looks good as new? That's what I call smart shopping. Anywho, this summer I've been really loving me some Yellow (what else is new?) and have developed an affair with Coral. There is something so special about both colors that make my heart sing and brighten my mood. I've been feeling a little defeated the past few weeks and a little burned out. As most of you know, I have a full time career in addition to running this bad boy blog and it can all become a little overwhelming but something about getting dressed in my power colors: Yellow & Orange (along with prayer, hugs from my husband, ice cream sandwiches, and wine) gives me the boost I need and I feel like I can overcome anything!

This beautiful polka dot tote bag has also been giving me everything! I can pretty much wear this bag with any look I throw together and doesn't it kinda remind you of Funfetti cake? (my all time fave cake flavor!)

DIY Wallpaper with the HP Sprout

Thursday, June 18, 2015

Hi Loves! I'm back again with another creative project with the help of my handy HP Sprout! After successfully creating a collage in celebration of my first year of marriage in my first post, I immediately wondered what I could make next. After brainstorming for a while, my husband helped me come up with the idea of making some pretty DIY floral wallpaper for my half of our home office and that's just what I did!

First I scanned in all of my flowers with the HP Sprout. I love how simple it is to use. You simply place it on the touchpad, touch one button, and scan it in.

I'm clearly proud of my finished product! Now all I have to do is print out my wallpaper and I'm all set! Don't forget to check out the Sprout Creator Gallery for creative inspiration!

Tropical Summer Romper

Wednesday, June 17, 2015

Happy Hump-day loves! So I spotted this airy paper weight floral romper hanging in a store while shopping in Vegas and my heart literally stopped! You know, one of those slow motion moments where you reach out and you immediately find your size in that piece you want, and you eyeball it and know it's going to fit beautifully, and ya know what? It fits! Those moments are magic...

Since the pattern is so vibrant and fun, I added a my yellow blazer, and block heeled sandals for interest. I finished the look off with my orange clutch and gold jewelry.

Floral Bloom

Monday, June 15, 2015

Hi loves! I enjoyed a nice weekend of relaxing and eating yummy food in bed with my husband. It was just whatI needed after a fun 3 day work conference in Cincinnati! How was your weekend? I've styled one of my favorite maxi dresses today on the blog. The thing I love about maxi dresses are how simple and easy they are to style. They don't require much work or planning and I can still look chic and pulled together simply based on the dress and minimal accessories. I decided to pair camel hues with my dress by adding my sandals ,tote bag, a gold chunky necklace, and earrings!
